Key word: “Laser 05-2019”
Dear colleagues,
Among phonosurgical procedures in patients with various lesions of the larynx, office-based laser surgery has reached a level of high standard and is nowadays considered as first choice treatment for some benign mass lesions. Our 4th hands-on workshop will offer presentations on different lasers, from cutting diode lasers, CO2 lasers to state of the art photoangiolytic lasers (KTP, blue laser). We will show how lasers work, which potential they have and how we can address individual needs during an intervention in out-patient cases. Lectures are given by clinical experts, including demonstrations of different laser effects on tissues as well as video-presentations of typical cases. All participants will have the opportunity during the ‘hands-on’ part to learn several techniques with laser glass fibers and train how laser settings will lead to a maximum benefit as well as how to handle the endoscope for the intervention.
With more than 15 years of experience using photoangiolytic lasers, and in parallel also cutting lasers like CO2 and diode laser, we would like to share this knowledge with our participants during the practical course and show how to perform operations. One special focus will be a live case presentation. We conclude with a presentation of tips and tricks as well as pointing at pitfalls – and of course we should be learning from complications.
We welcome you in Hamburg and are looking forward to seeing you in May.
